The ANC Leadership

29 January 2014, 14:25

ANC leadership in 2014 - Can they deliver?

Good Governance and leadership is something that haunts any organisation and or company. So as the political organisations faces the same challenge. The mix of personnel in the leadership determeans the success or failure of the organisation.

The experience in government of the current leardership will take ANC to the Future as the Economic policies including the Industrial policy that is aimed at rebuilding economy of the country. The National Development Plan seems to be the guiding document emanating from the founding document of the ANC, the FREEDOM CHARTER. Infrastructure development is key in any developing economy.

The Big question is that of Zuma leadership if he can take the country to the next level. Indeed Zuma might not have planned for the country like Mandela and Mbeki, but those leaders did lay the foundation of Good governance and policies. It does not help to keep on inventing the wheel, all you have to do is to improve where there are defects. So the leadership under President Zuma possess of such men and women who served under such leaders Mbeki and Mandela.

During Mbeki's time people were uncomfortable about his leadership style and I believe it is still the same case even with the sitting President. All I know is that leadership in the ANC is out of different parties: The tripatite leadership, Business community as well as media houses. I think all these structures have done a sterling job so far and we have not experienced any difficulties that have been experienced by the developed economies such as PIGS or Portugal, Italy, Greece and Spain.

Like the former President Mbeki says, the course of action has changed. The common enemy of the people is no longer aprtheid like it was during their times, it has changed. Until one is able to figure out how to fight social injustices against social ills such as inequalities, poverty and corruption, the people will continue to suffer.

It is important to take pride on the achievements that comes of all our politians and political parties in general. Let us all go and register to VOTE, those who have changed their addresses and those who will be voting for the first time. LELI LUNGELO ELAKHO MNGANAMI.
