One would never have guessed that South Africa is one of the most mineral-rich nations when one looks at the pitiful amount of direct, long term foreign investment that flows into the country...
If we want to reduce poverty like Brazil have been over the past 5 years, we need a business friendly government which can control the violent unions... In addition one shouldn't be allowed to be a union leader and a member of parliament simultaneously, unless one sees both jobs as part-time... COSATU are part-timers in both regards and are totally useless at educating their members about the consequence of their actions... Meanwhile the ANC doesn't seem to care about restoring the economy as it is pre-occupied with its internal squabbles...
The ANC are terribly incompetent. The country is currently losing billions of rand and the ANC is incapable of dealing with violent strikers. I have no sympathy for people who strike and are carrying weapons and threatening violence - people like that don't deserve a job let alone an increase! How can you justify violence?! I think we need to call an earlier election as I would like to give the ANC a vote of NO CONFIDENCE!!
South Africa should be one of the richest countries in the world, but thanks to ANC red tape, stupidity, incompetence and selfishness this is not going to happen. The ANC care more about making themselves rich through corruption. I am so embarrassed that when I am abroad selling my company's products, people always ask me about the ANC and their anti-growth, anti-investment policies. People in China, America, Botswana, Indonesia etc all mock the ANC and how pathetic they are at governance. The ANC have let down the youth through their dreadful provision of education as well as not doing enough to encourage jobs, international investment and large companies to employ people here..
I am going to wait and see if I expand my company to employ more people. I currently employ a chemical engineer and two metallurgists and I want to expand my business... I am in my late 20s and run exactly the sort of operation that could expand and employ many – I am reluctant to expand until I see red tape cut, efficient government, sound economic policy etc. I don’t want to become one of those people that is bankrupt at 40 thanks to situations beyond my control (ie terrible government policy, ailing infrastructure)
WE HAVE TO VOTE OUT THESE GREEDY, INCOMPETENT, ECONOMICALLY ILLITERATE ANC POLITICIANS. ANYBODY BUT THE ANC - ABANC!!
