In the cauldron of events that concoct a life, out of the toxic, the ugly and the outrageously unjust, sometimes gold can emerge. It is no coincidence that the word "G-D" is gold with the "L" missing...or decades of my life, I was underestimated and misunderstood in a number of areas.
This spurred me to further action and like a boxer, I just kept on getting up and facing the next round of the fight. Some of the "rounds" were exceptionally bruising. Underestimation enabled me to "fly under the radar" at times and regroup my forces and decide how to reinvent myself.Sometimes having diverse abilities can be a liability. It is highly challenging for people to perceive you as you truly are rather than as they choose you to appear through the lens of their own perception.
Often, only only one facet of you is perceptible at a time. For a diamond to be fully appreciated, it needs to be held up to the light. When it is buried in the ground, it is unseen and unappreciated. Life tends to hew us roughly like rocks that have within us the shape of either the beautiful or the misshapen.
However, the cutting of the facets of the diamond is up to us and it is a painstaking process. The pain of being misunderstood, at times being cut down so many times when I had just begun to blossom was very intense and released the angel, the demon...and ultimately alchemised into the human. I emerged wounded with a unique configuration of "life-scars," the warp and the weft of the fabric of my world and my body.
I began to sing my own song and tell my tale in my own way, without accepting the yoke of others' preconceptions and "norms" and ploughing my way through the mire of ill-health; bad timing and injustice. This was my liberation from Underestimation and the alchemisation of the base metal to the gold...or the transformation of the chunk of coal into a diamond.
Underestimation and UnderESTEEMATION can be tranformed into a force for good.
Alchemise..let the cauldron come to the boil and then extract the gold that is YOU!
