This morning I was shocked to hear that Oscar Pistorious had allegedly shot his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. I really had to read the headline and article twice.
I have since been following the story as it unfolded as I’m sure most of you have, and in all honesty I don’t see how there is going to be any kind of silver lining to this story. Yes I know it has not be OFFICIALLY set in stone yet and the police are holding all kinds of info back, but we are not stupid we all know Steenkamp is no longer with us and that Pistorius has taken a life that was far too young and shortly lived.
We also all know that Oscar will not be (excuse the pun) walking away from this a free man, murder is on the table and I suspect he'll be going behind bars for the maximum the lawyers of the Steenkamp family can get.
It’s unfortunate that not only has a life been lost for good in the murder of Steenkamp, but also the live of young Oscar has been lost.
The whole situation is both bizarre and all a little to familiar in the life of the rich and famous, I know I will and I’m betting you to will be watching this story unfold with both sadness and curiosity in our hearts.
It’s a really sad day for the world and South Africa.
