Although I am not fully aware of how precisely things were done in the past with regards to the process of licensing, I am of the view that the work was done pretty much exceptionally well as opposed to at present.
This I say despite the existence of the feeling in me that this process was laced up with racist tendencies given the period to which I make reference i.e. the period before our very own celebrated democracy.
However the issue here is not about the discriminatory nature of the then government towards its people rather it is the fact that the office bearers thereof were adherent to what their respective jobs required them to do.
Maybe this was because of the regard at which people held their jobs, or maybe it was because of the fear that people had towards the wrath of the law in those days which is highly unlikely the case nowadays. MAYBE, I DON’T KNOW!!
The employees of the Traffic department and/or Department of Roads and Transport, and owners of the driving schools should be ashamed of themselves. Both the poor and the desperate are blatantly taken advantage of by the above-mentioned.
Their efforts to rise above their current situations as well as their hard-earned money are tampered with by the greedy and corrupt FAT cows who demand scores of monies from them for jojo on daily basis, particularly, at the testing stations.
Some owners of the driving schools even go to an extent of seeking things that carry monetary value such as (real) cows and, even sleeping with the clients for payment of fees. Of course these are not the only modes of payments; the list is endless.
The painful thing is, it is almost impossible to report this syndicate and succeed because it works with the police.
Thus, you as a whistleblower are likely to have your precious life taken away from you for reporting them. SOUTH AFRICA, WHAT MUST WE DO TO ERADICATE THIS ILL?...Please don’t tell me to vote DA.
