Whenever I hear anything about the EFF I can’t help thinking of the following experience I had.
I while ago I was in Mmbatho for business.
On my way to my destination I was caught in heavy mid-morning traffic in the CBD area. While patiently waiting for a robot to turn green I started hearing the most horrendous noise imaginable that progressively became louder. For a moment there I thought it was the end of the earth, an earthquake at the very least! Anyone that has been to the capital of the North West province would appreciate that my sudden illogical fears are not unbefitting the surroundings. Environmental stress disorder would probably be an apt description.
I looked in my rear view mirror and saw a red Lamborghini pulling up to the robot and then eventually stopping right next to me. The noise levels have now reached a point where it’s almost unbearable to the human ears! This is a R2,5 million super car, how can this be possible?! I had a better look at the car and it quickly became clear to me what the situation was.
A warning to all my fellow petrol heads …this is going to hurt!
First of all, the vehicle was dirty, like in REALLY dirty! Dried mud clung to the wheel arches and a thick layer of fine red dust covered the car in a veil of disgrace. I also realised that this was one bull that was quickly losing the fight to a cruel and unforgiving matador. The once proud bodywork was covered in scratches and with other cosmetic damage of all types and sizes. The abhorrent noise was caused by a tortured V12 engine uncontrolled by any form of silencer and the two young punks in the car, all sunglasses and jewellery, tried their very best to compete by turning up the sound system to the very max so that even the windows of my car started rattling! Worst of all, the driver kept revving the engine to keep it from stalling.
But it was only when the traffic started moving again that I realised the true extend of the damage to the poor Lambo. With the sound of shrieking metal the driver put up a brave fight to get the car into first. It took a while but he eventually succeeded and this king of super cars slowly shuddered into movement under a cloud of unhealthy blue smoke. What a superb waste. What a shame…
You see dear EFF supporters, it is one thing to get a Lamborghini for free, but it is a totally different story to keep it running.
