I’m sure I speak for most of us when I express my surprise at Mathews Phosa’s sudden surprise appearance onto the political stage http://www.news24.com/SouthAfrica/Politics/Stop-blaming-apartheid-Mathews-Phosa-20131008
He came here and preached the Gospel most people have been waiting to hear, confirming that the ANC is corrupt to the bone, that there are too many excuses, that the ANC has looted more than delivered and that the ANC’s history is becoming as worthless as the pieces of paper used to write it on. Yes, a sure sign that we are now very close to election time, for where was Mathews All these years while we were being pummeled left, right and centre with increased rates/taxes, increased petrol prices, worsening service levels, BEE that was shoddily carried out – where was Mathews when we wanted someone in power to hear our cries? where is Mathews while we are being abused by E-toll, where was Phosa when we cried long and loud over the hundreds of millions poured down the drain called “Nkandla”, where was Phosa to force business into fair and just practices regarding the vast race-based income disparities?
I’m sorry but I don’t buy it, it’s all just another election ploy with EFF breathing heavy down their necks, I’m shocked that some people have been fooled once again.
The fact that Mathews knew about all our concerns and grief but still chose to remain silent until now (just before the elections) makes it even more nauseating than had he just remained silently frittering away ill-deserved gains. They say Zuma is ruthless with those who speak out against current corrupt practices, that makes every ANC Executive member a blatant coward, if there was any sincerity at all in Phosa’s words they would have removed Zuma many months ago, they would have dealt decisively with land and economic reform, they would have booted out useless Managers’ in municipalities who employ consultants at a cost of billions, consultants who know even less than them, they would have stopped the thieving E-toll system with its ability to make South Africa ungovernable, they would have arrested thieving Ministers’ instead of promoting them…the list is endless.
Now Phosa stands before us like a drug addict or alcoholic claiming to have turned his life around, like someone who marries hurriedly to gain citizenship, like someone who behaves well briefly in order not to be cut off from a lucrative inheritance - The Gospel according to Mathews, the Book of Revelations, must Only be perused once every four years, sorry, but I am not fooled Mathews, never, never, and never again.
