It had always been easy for me to understand why the previous government did as they did... my logic was, and still is: well they hated Black people. Yet as I’ve grown older, past the pre 94’ thought and resent, I am lead to ask myself, why does this government do as they do?
It makes little to no sense to me that a government run by a political party built by sweat and tears with a constitution written in blood from those who perished so we may secure an equal future behaves in such a nonchalant and utterly disdained manner. I need to ask the rhetorical about what would those who have perished say were they to see what’s happening today? I need not point out the billions of rands that inexplicably end up in friends of the state’s bank accounts rather than to the needy. What I would ask any person who still has an unyielding support and belief for the ANC is;
· What more do you need the ANC to do before you start questioning the actions or lack of action against corruption?
· How many more under educated matriculants will our country have before we start doubting the abilities of those in leadership of our country?
· When will a strike be deadly enough for you to realise that those who strike are made to do so by absurd promises about living in Sandton and receiving 300% salary increases from Lonmin?
· Why must a country with sufficient resources spend twice on the same work i.e rebuilding RDP house built less than a decade back (due to shoddy work) OBE came at a 5 Billion rand cost, then was canned in less than 5 years.
I curiously need to know when exactly, will those who love their political affiliation have the courage to say STOP!! Enough!! We cannot keep going in a directionless splurge of the countries resources. I for one have no doubt that not all in the ANC are rotten, just like I have no doubt that not all in the DA are only out to improve the lives of the elite, rich, ‘white’ etc but I am certain JZ and his peer age group have done all they can to ensure a comfortable retirement. Now let’s get them out, and vote for somebody based on their intellectual ability and understanding of ways to improve government. Not vote for an imbecile who’s only real calling in life was that he master woodwork but failed to carve out a circle. When did it become a shame to be educated? Why do we laugh because Lindiwe Mazibuko does not speak in the flat line monotone that apparently all black people are supposed to?
Can you imagine being embarrassed for being intelligent..
I for one believe the time for the populists is gone, now let’s vote on ability.. vote on intellect, vote on real facts.
