Christians know the true power of Prayer. Allow me to give an example that I was told by a relative of mine. There was a member of his church that had been diagnosed with cancer and treatment did not appear to be working. Everyone in the church prayed for him and lo and behold – a few weeks later the cancer, with God’s Grace, went into remission. Atheists claim of course that the medical treatment could have caused this, but with FAITH we know the TRUTH.
Its anecdotes like this that show the power of prayer! Let me show you another example of God’s Grace.
On 2002, 2003 and 2004 3 females aged - 21, 16 and 14 were abducted and kept in a house together by a sadistic and masochistic individual who happened to be a bus driver. Over 10 years they were raped, beaten and kept alive in the most appalling conditions for his amusement. God, through his infinite grace and wisdom did not intervene, but allowed this to continue because it was just and right. One day, he knew, they will receive their gift in heaven. This I am told is God’s plan. Gods Wisdom. What is moral and right.
I can only guess at what it must have been like for Amanda Berry at 16 to suddenly lose everything she ever knew, or Gina DeJesus at 14 to suddenly have her parents disappear from her life, only to be replaced by someone who would repeatedly rape you for his pleasure. To have your entire future replaced by something so horrific and disgusting that writing this makes me feel sick. To be beaten daily. Kept alone in a room for years, waiting endlessly. Would he come to rape me today? Or to kick and punch me? How they must have wondered how long it would go on for. I can imagine these poor girls, being raised Christian, would say their prayers in desperation each night but only wake up to find the nightmare continue. How they must have asked God to speak to them, begged him. Anything.
But God was silent. He sat on his throne, watching this. He will not lift a finger.
I can only imagine how during the time they were being held kidnapped there, Michelle Knight must have prayed to God so, so, many times. How she must have begged him to stop the beatings. How when she was pregnant she must have looked up to the ceiling of her dungeon with tears swelling in her eyes and cried out for God to help her. To stop Ariel Castro from coming down when he found out and inducing a miscarriage by pounding her in the stomach. But he would come. He would beat her. He would rape her again, and again and again. He would force her to miscarry not once, but five times.
And he would do this while heaven watched. While God watched, callous, indifferent and uncaring. How she must have implored God at times just to let her die, rather that carry on this existence. But Ariel would just keep coming. And no matter how she begged God, or implored in his name or prayed for help, it would continue for 10 years. It would make not a jot of difference, how she prayed. He would be there the next day. She would know only pain and the utter terror from this man who would subject her to this. She would have no choice, only utter helplessness.
How easy it would have been for God, when in as early as 2004 he could have caused the police that knocked on Ariel’s door, to have just made them notice something that would make them enter. But no, he would not. With Gods Grace and Mercy it would have to continue until 2013.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I cannot believe there is a rational person reading this that could honestly even try to defend a God that looks down on events like this and refuses to lift a finger. That refuses to, when given opportunity to intervene, does nothing. I cannot believe that you would claim this same God WILL intervene for Cancer, but does nothing for children with Down Syndrome, or the three woman abducted by Ariel Castro.
I cannot believe, no, in fact I won’t accept that there can be a rational thinking person who could look Amanda Berry in the eye and tell her that this is a God who loves her, and what she went through was right, and fair. That could hold Michelle Knights hands together and make her pray in that Gods name. That could tell these woman that one day they will be rewarded in Heaven, and it was all worth it. I cannot believe that anyone rational would think such as disgustingly immoral idea could in any way be defended.
I appeal to you to reassess this madness of indoctrination and reject this imaginary idea of prayer. What other evidence do you need to see it is an abomination of our humanity to accept it?
