There have been several articles on here lately that hint, or openly accuse this or that of threatening organised religion.
The truth is, however, that if organised religion were truly the answer, nothing would be able to threaten it.
The real threat to organised religion is itself, and it's outdated notions.
The real threat is the lack of logic, and the fact that pushers of organised religion expect everyone to adhere to ideas and rules that were created thousands of years ago.
The real threat to organised religion is, ironically, that it does not evolve.
Another very real threat to religion are the people who still believe in it.
With a few exceptions, they are the most narrow minded, least tolerant, least educated and least progressive people out there. When one looks at them, and the ideas they scream at anyone within earshot, one is not filled with admiration. One is filled with pity, mild disgust or amusement. That's not great marketing.
When one looks at the leaders of those religions, with their flashy cars, scandals and bigotry, one isn't filled with trust or a feeling of comfort.
It's very hard, when given the choice between rational or scientific argument and religion, to choose the alternative: irrational, emotional, holier than thou preaching.
Organised religion is it's own worst enemy, and like many things that suffer that fate, it will continue to be so until it's followers dwindle down to the last few fanatics.
The thing is, in a modern world, the thinking person weighs any concept according to it's relevance, and the religion that most of you are pushing is no longer relevant.
I have no doubt that the comments on here will only prove what I am saying more, which brings me to the final threat to organised religion: the stupid sheep that seem to make up most of their 'flocks.'
