The Reality of Truth

05 January 2014, 15:11

Much like most African countries, we are facing down the barrel of dictating leadership. More concerning though, are the blind following this enjoys, not directed to the "uneducated masses" we so commonly refer to, but rather to the likes of seemingly educated people such as the ones frequenting these forums. Why would one support a regime so obviously riddled with corruption, veering from the one embarrassing scandal to the other with no sense of accountability or reasonable explanation. I can only conclude that people either benefit from this corrupt regime, or are so filled with hatred or fear that this seems to be the only option.

The best thing that could have happened to our country was the instatement of equal rights. No oppression by one on another, and was envisioned by the late Nelson Mandela to be exactly that. This however, currently seem to be rather misappropriated by the likes of policies such as BEE, AA and so forth. We know very well this is, in no way sustainable, and al we are doing is creating a non accountable and incompetent majority society. Equal employment should be encouraged though education, not enforced. Again, the missing vocabulary in our society........SUSTAINABILITY.

Sadly, many feel that political association entitles them to claim the likes of Nelson Mandela as their own, for their own misguided beliefs, holding on to the good (the likes of Mandela, Sisulu, Thambo) in their history as trump-card to manipulate, and ensuring their morally corrupt future . Where we currently are, is not were we were guided to be. I firmly believe that most of the "followers"  of the current regime knows the truth, and have firm understanding of basic rights and wrongs, they just choose not to revolt against the wrongs because of the above mentioned explanations. Our current political environment is not unique, we have ample examples through history that proves to be similar, yet some "followers" choose to ignore this and rather travel the laden road......riddled with E-Tolls...to the inevitable ground zero. No government or regime has ruled forever, the people eventually dictates the future, it's not a matter of "if" the wrongs will be corrected, but rather when.

As human beings we instinctively react on our emotions rather than using common sense. The best and most successful people in life are those who learn from other peoples mistakes without making those mistakes. Sadly this is a minuscule percentage of our society.
