The SANDF never learns!

12 June 2014, 07:22

Y&P Close Corporation, with only one member, Thigambury Padayachee, who incidentally works for ARMSCOR, has no aircraft registered in its name, was indirectly responsible for the deaths of soldiers in the Battle of Bangui, in the Central African Republic in that they couldn’t deliver on their contract, - has done it again!

Its previous contract with the SANDF was for R 23 million to charter aircraft on behalf of the SANDF, as the SANDF own planes are all non-operational to deliver the service, for transportation of troops and supporting equipment to foreign missions on behalf of the SANDF, and such R 23 million tender being more than R 8, 0 million of the next tender, who owned aircraft to do the job, and Y&P Close Corporation paid a total of R 26.75m which amounts to R 3.675 million more than the contract price.

And despite all of this and the fact that the contract are supposed to be vetted by defence intelligence as part of the tender procedures and the awarding of the successful tenders, it never done by the SANDF in respect of Y&P, and this not disqualifying them from the new contract that has been awarded to them for the next three years to do the same – to be inefficient, ineffective and claims non delivery as its credentials!

“This stinks of high heavens!”
