The Social Justice Crusade

17 July 2014, 22:00
Hello everybody, for those of you who don't recognize my new persona I was once known as LAVOLPE or The Fox. I changed my persona in order to embrace a new direction of writing I wanted to get into. A fresh start. Because on the internet, that's easy.
Today I want to talk about generalizations and stereotypes... Oh goody. But I also wanted to tie that into the giant crusade of Social Justice Warriors we find in every nook and cranny of cyber-space.
What are Social Justice Warriors? Well SJW's tend to be a group of people who label themselves online civil rights warriors who actively comment their ideas of anti bigoted stereotypes often for no other reason than to create an internet persona. Most of the time they don't really care about what they're supposedly fighting for and simply do so in the hopes to garner internet reputation.
The number one rule about having a platform to speak on is to steer clear of making broad and generalized accusations towards your viewers. That is exactly where everyone seems to go wrong. Generalizations based on race, culture or gender is a very delicate subject and SJW's often try to establish what sort of stereotypes are okay and what aren't. The fact is, stereotypes are always inaccurate regardless of time, place or situation. But unfortunately we NEED them in order to create an interactive starting point that creates a framework for social interaction. The starting point may not be very good but you begin to flush out the stereotype once you begin to know the person.
For example. when I was in the States I often thought that I had to explain to every American I met that South Africa was a country that had cities and, no, I didn't ride a lion to school. I did this simply because we all assume Americans to be inward and ignorant about the rest of the world. However I was wrong, most of the time they would simply ask where about I was from and whether or not Cape Town was as great as everyone says.
I made an assumption on these people based on where they're from, technically I was culturalist (is that even a word?) but I don't care. I established that Americans aren't all stupid and even had conversations with them about it.
That's how and why generalizations come to exist, that's why we have racism and cultural-ism and so on. It helps us build our social relations, believe it or not. Of course you wouldn't really be surprised to learn how often we get things wrong and that is why bad stereotypes are often harmful. This is probably why I began to dislike SJWs because they're probably the most abhorrent and racist people you will ever know.
I once read about a man who drove to Texas, dressed in drag and wondered around the streets just so that he could antagonize people. He did so just to prove how bigoted Texans are. Truth is he was largely ignored by most people on the streets. Then there was this comic called SinFest that became a Social Justice soap box that once declared that the world would be a better place if the Statue of Liberty was just a Halloween costume dressed in native Indian attire that welcomed immigrants to its shores as some kind of ironic slap to the face. But the Statue of liberty is nothing but a big green French lady. the moment you start accusing the Statue of Liberty of being racist then I believe you've simply gotten lost in your own little imaginary world.
Somewhere, I think that we all had everything lost in translation. Even here on N24 I've noticed people lambaste colonialism for its racist outset yet spew hate towards white or black people in general. Its hypocritical and its the bases of SJW tactics.
So here is what I say to you. Consider trying to be positive instead of a misanthropic jerk. Stop trying to convince the world that the world is terrible and they need you to tell them why its terrible. Telling the world that white people have stolen all the land or that black people are taking all the jobs is quite frankly nothing but discouraging. Why exactly would you want to create a self fulfilling prophecy where you convince black people that they're not getting jobs because they worked for them or white people are nothing but racist thieves. Have you considered that instead of being negative that spreading positive images of black people doing well in corporate or that white people have contributed a lot to social and economic development is a far more proactive way of creating an image. When you spread positive images you're creating positive social interaction and discouraging racism and stereotypes. That's the whole point of social justice as opposed to being negative where all you're doing is shooting yourself in the foot. But you're not just shooting yourself in the foot, you're shooting everyone in the foot.
When that guy went down to Texas and dressed in drag to annoy other people he did nothing but create an image of people who dress in drag as terrible people. Eddie Izzard used to dress in drag and how many people hate Eddie Izzard? all he did was dress in drag aside from he's comedy acts and he's probably done more for people who dress in drag then any self-righteous SJW could ever do.
The Social Justice Crusade is stupid and counter-intuitive because I cannot see how these people will ever achieve what they want by constantly making noise about everything that is wrong with everyone.
