It doesn’t matter what your religion is, what you believe or what your views are, you too have a god, you might not like it, but it is the truth. Your life revolves around your god, everything you do is in his name. In fact, your god is so powerful that he has the power to reject you from society, he can make your life unbearable, and worst of all, he can embarrass you like no other.
I’m not talking about the age old News24 debate about Christians and atheists, no, I’m talking about each and every human beings need for money… the economy is your god, and nothing you or I can do will change this, it is a self created monster that has an apatite that can not be satisfied, and best of all is, we ourselves created this invisible demy god. We nurtured it from infancy to manhood, we feed it, we nurture it, and if you as an individual can’t feed it, it rejects you, it labels you, and it leaves you out in the cold. Like a sick horse we do everything in our power to ensure its survival, even though it has collapsed many times, and in recent times came close to collapse again, but we made sure that it stays alive. And the sad part about this is, that even if it does collapse again, which it will do, we will start all over again, we will once again nurture it back to health, we will make sure that our god survives at all costs. And why I hear you ask, because we do not know of a better way, we can not solve this problem, it is an age old problem that has no solution, so we do what we as humans do best, and that is to stick to what we know.
Yes, I do understand that without the economy we will all still be living in caves and beating each other over the head with sticks, but that is not the point, the point I am making here is that we have created a system that serves only a handful, and enslave the rest, it is a system that does not work, it destroys our families, our environment and breaks down the very fabric that makes us all human. The job is never done, it is an endless cycle that never stops, and it will carry on into generations to come, in fact it will not end until a better way of living emerges.
The sadest part of this whole thing, is that WHAT WE have created, what we serve and what we work so hard to maintain, is a perfect reflection of who we are, our nature and our future.
