The black masses' final revolution

09 September 2012, 15:46

Back in 1994 we all thought that all the people of South Africa would be free and empowered to dictate their own futures, free of white political suppression, but now,as we look on present South Africa,we see this is not the case.

It is true that the white people of South Africa have ceded power! but the plight of their black citizens has not changed.

Herein lies the seeds of revolution that we face today from these same black masses. In 1994 the ANC's coming to power was a promise to the then inflamed masses that the ANC would bring a better life for them,so this managed to bring a calm to the majority of South Africans as the situation at that time was extremely volatile due to the mindset of so many black people after nearly 18 years of unrest and protest action and the intransigence of the whites,to not yield.

Now this promise has not been kept and the black masses have lost patience! The proof of this can be seen in all the service delivery protest that have recently reached an all time high and what happened at Marikana recently.

How  this will develop is anyone's guess but this failure by the ANC to address the problems the masses have faced over the last 18 years and what they still face today is a ticking time bomb, that is in its final stages of counting down, before eventually exploding.

Another disturbing fact is that it would seem that the last 18 years has only given rise to a gradual building up of negative sentiment, that is now to far advanced to be addressed, that only a full revolution will suffice to vent these pent up angers and feelings of betrayal .

It is very hard for any middle class South African to fully appreciate the poverty of the majority of  people in this country, the daily day to day struggle to survive and most importantly the uncertain future they all face! Suffice it to say it is highly debilitating and lowers  morale on a daily basis eroding any chance for an even minded mindset to develop or be sustained.

Tipping point

In fact it can be said that we are long over the tipping point  and that all it now needs is any one single event that could happen any day now to give rise to an explosion of public bitterness and action that this country hasn't seen yet, or at any other time in its history.Thereby it can be said that the time for dilly dallying  and potting about is long since past!

What we now need is either a new political revolution that can radically address the wrongs committed over the last 18 years and before,or failing this, then the masses will take the law into their own hands and thereby we will enter into a new period of violence that won't stop until  our economy is destroyed as it exists today.

For people who have nothing cannot lose anything! they will only believe all must first collapse before they can get anything, remotely like, a better life, such is the desperation of the uneducated unemployed  idle masses. If even an entrenched tyrant like Gaddafi could be toppled because of financial suppression of his people then surely we are naive to think the same couldn't happen here!

Perhaps it is the respect born of fear, that the average black man has for the whites in this country that will be a nullifying factor, perhaps it is this reason the Julius Malema wastes no opportunity to attack the whites? We the whites would like to believe this, but to trust in this will be our greatest folly! Either way we need something new politically, a brand new vision to capture the imagination of people  and we need it now!

The question we have to ask ourselves is do we have people of the necessary talent to pull it off?I believe that only among the ranks of the civil society can these people be found and definitely not  in the ranks of our current politicians, whether ruling or opposition.
