The blind can now see

We live in a society where smart and seemingly educated people of colour are shunned upon. I have recently been engaging with people through the "Marikana Activist heading to Parliament" article, and I found myself smiling at some of the comments made by people who used to be very blind to the opportunities we have in our country. 
I been in numerous fights (intellectual arguments) with peers about my view of how the country is run, and where we seem to be heading as a nation. Many of my peers (Black and White) drifted away from the topic at  hand and spoke a lot of the way apartheid had ruined things and had instilled a notion in peoples heads that the privileged should not continue to prosper in life but those who are disadvantaged should be given the opportunity to prosper. 
Being prosperous is a trait not given to everybody. But it's a trait you can work at having. I believe, like many of my peers, that, if you're given the platform to better yourself, use that platform wisely and intellectually and better your life and empower others in  the process. We are not put to this world to keep complaining about our misfortunes, that of which were decades ago.
So in the light of exuding greatness. I call on all people to go out there and be great at what you do, let us be role-models to our younger ones and show them that all they really need to succeed is BOLDNESS and THRIVE to conquer what is said to be the wild world.
