When are we going to wake up and start to throw our buying power/tax paying power around to relieve this dreadful feeling of impotence and dread for the future in this country?
The advert placed by Woolworths openly barring one race group from applying was absolutely arrogant no matter what their spin doctors are now saying, and was just a "gat kruip" of note, any business worth it's salt would have made no mention of race and would then have just quietly sifted through the replies to find the demographic they needed, no harm done.
However, the interesting thing that showed up very quickly was their attempts with emails to customers and notices in the media to put out the fire.
We who were very angry scared them with our reaction to the advert and they were obviously scared of a customer boycott. I would like to ask everyone reading this article if they feel the same way as me, and if so what are our chances of being able to make a difference? Can we find ways to regain some measure of power to prevent the excesses that are going on? Our "Pocket Power" must be worth something! As an aside, if you read the Sunday Times of the 9th. Sept. what did you think of the article by our unlamented ex. W.Cape premier Rasool ? be scared, be very scared!!!
