There is a high rate of alcohol abuse in our community because there’s a lack of seriousness in our society simply because many people are unemployed and are less qualified so people use alcohol to satisfy their needs and they use alcohol as their everyday nutrition or their special ingredient.
Alcohol abuse has also played a huge role in the youth of Masiphumelele because there’s a lack of respect towards their parents and they are not that serious in their school duties. The learners say education is a waste of time to them just because it’s a long process that is wasting their time.
Many people are drinking alcohol as an excuse because they believe alcohol makes things more comfortable without knowing they are wasting their time and life because the more they drink alcohol the more they ruin the opportunity to become a successful person.
People are taking alcohol as their strength but they do not know it is their weakness and they have a huge amount of peer-pressure that can be caused by stress or anything that can be very personal in their life like family problems and sex life etc.
Alcohol abuse also plays a huge role in adults' lives because there's a lack of confidence and poor thinking that causes people to take alcohol and drink so that they could satisfy their friends' needs. It's not that they like to drink but it's just that they want to satisfy their friends because they want to be loved by their friends.
