Most religions are the antithesis of decency.
Why?
Because religions habitually condemn all those who do not agree with their particular beliefs, and condemn the unbelievers in the beliefs to everlasting punishment. In contradistinction to the latter of course they hold out everlasting salvation and heaven.
Billions will of course have to go to blazes because of the aforementioned approach.
Many of the condemned will not even have had the opportunity to make a choice of the right religion. Not in history and not in the present. They literally get killed or lashed or separated from their families (read: women from their children) if they dare to make the choice preferred and prescribed by some of the rubbish we see commenting on these pages every day – comfortably embedded behind their PCs without the threat of lashes and beheadings..
But they will continue to shout their prejudiced minds off against evolution even if such a self-evident fact as the correlation (for example) between plate tectonics and the fauna and flora of New Zealand and the fossil record confirms the huge age of the earth. They advocate rubbish like a young age for the earth. We all know that if the accounts (yes, there are two irreconcilable accounts of creation in Genesis) are wrong the whole Christian (which one of the thousands of strands anyway) tradition falls flat on its face and hopefully the with it the false condemnations of non-Christians as well.
But why the false propagation of religion?
Here is the reason, plain and simple.
The propagandists must believe themselves. It is vital and, in the case of Christianity, an imperative because they believe they are commanded to make others believe the same.
It is a selfish, self-serving rationalization at work. Tautologically stated, they have to keep on bluffing others so the self-bluffing can validate their self-delusion.
