The lady and the dog

27 March 2013, 07:09

                           THE  LADY AND THE DOG.

Where I go lord Grrrr goes with me. Lord Grr is a Yorkshire terrier and mans best friend if you exclude all men and only include women. Lord Grrrr is a miniature breed and hence suffers the cruelty that goes with miniaturisation. The results are mainly related to the dogs perception of the world about him and aggression although the dog is highly intelligent but has a weird attraction for human females to the extent of becoming physical. Some days ago I went out to the local market and LG went with me growling at every bowser, Rover and Buster he passes. Now and again a finger may get caught in his yapper.

After toting the dog from shelf to shelf and from pillar to post, while filling a basket the lord became rather aggressive and only calmed down when an elderly lady approached us and stroked the dog.  I had to answer the usual questions regarding the breed and name of the dog, its pedigree and age and price of sale. I carefully reminded her that the dog was definitely not for sale. She mentioned that she lived alone and for weeks on end had nobody to talk to and a dog would be her best friend. Nobody cared.  She, too, mentioned that her hubby had died some years ago and her only son was dead too. Sadly, when she turned away I noticed tears in the old eyes.

While I have been subjected to insults re the dog and insults fired at myself because of the dog, then that dog has proven himself superior to humans and that is a tit-bit of info few of us can handle. Lord Grrr has passed the test. The tendency of the dog forces me to rather trust the dog than some humans because I have received more from Lord GRRR than from humans on these articles. During the fortnight away my mind went to the lady who had no dog.
