At first when my very well written very funny article disappeared into thin air yesterday, I was quite peeved as for once I had forgotten to save it and thus it is gone. But that got me thinking (which is never a good thing). Where do they go to? That age old question of why only one sock returns from the land of washing when two were clearly worn. (Which is not a question that is on topic maybe, so let me get back on track) Where do our lost emails, articles, or anything electronic that does not reach its destination for that matter, go?
*Looks around scared and wispers* Has the matrix stolen my precious articles and now intend to imprint my wishes in my brain so I will not see what evil plot they have planned???
It baffles my mind (which also does not take a lot) that even after I received a message that the article had been submitted successfully…it is now gone…
Or when I send that very important email and documents that has to reach that very difficult client within the next 5 minutes…it just mysteriously disappears! And that after it clearly said sent. Slightly off topic but still world wide web related…where did that medical aid claim go that I so carefully submitted to them? (please note with proof of read receipt)
Since very few people nowadays write cheques that could be lost in the post, it seems that electronic fund transfers also seem to just vanish into thin air sometimes. (The proof along with it) The text I sent the boyfriend to remember to buy milk always seems to only reach his phone the second he walk in the door…well okay so that text did not disappear completely, but it was very late *frustration making frown lines on my forehead)
I will eventually re-write my absolutely brilliant article as it was just too great not to share, but for now I am going to research where all things lost never to be found again, goes to.
