The macabre modus operandi of the ruling government!

03 July 2014, 07:17

The ruling government of the day, is in no means trying their utmost best, to prevent it from having to face the elections of 2016 as the party that has lost major support.

Mayors in various local and district councils are being recalled and replaced with others, and the message clearly relayed to the new incumbents, that a ward lost in an election is not acceptable.

So far as many as 8 mayors in Limpopo alone have been replaced by others, and reasons for such replacements vary in management restructuring etc. but staying clear of what the actual reason is behind it.

The work done by the respective mayors during their tenure is of no significance to keep them in their positions, they are just randomly removed and ‘dumped’ and the ruling government not in any way concerned about their fate or destiny.

Apparently this kind of modus operandi that has been adopted in Limpopo Province is to be extended to the rest of the country, where mayors that are according to ANC standards not ‘performing’ will be replaced and ‘dumped’ into the wild.

For a party that advocates to be loyal to its supporters, and whom have ‘rewarded’ most of these mayors that are now being withdrawn, is like ‘cutting your nose to spite your face’. The reward now appears to have come with an ‘expiry date’ and that is shocking to say the least!

A party that in its election campaign underlined their manifesto as to create work opportunities now seem to have no qualm (doubt, uneasiness, trepidation, disquiet, unease)to rather ‘get rid of people’ in contrast to their manifesto promises.

But all those mayors that find themselves now out in the cold, need not fear – if this is the way in which you are ‘cared for’ then it is appropriate to say ‘good riddance of bad rubbish’ as you thought that your commitment and loyalty stood you in good faith, whereas the ruling party didn’t agree on it.

Well, don’t feel that you are now alone on an island. There are always the Mpumalanga Party, the Economic Freedom Fighters, and or Democratic Party where you can find a place to be and rest ‘your feet so to say!’

Where the ruling party vehemently criticized these parties at the time when it was involved in internal restructuring, it now does exactly that, and ‘dresses up mutton as lamb’ but the actions is as clear as daylight – don’t do as I do, do as I say!
