“Licence” (Is gun control irrational?) questioned the irrationality of gun control recently that probing of the non-debate debate raised some interesting issues. It raises more than doubt on the methodology of gun control research.
The poor quality of research is often used as an excuse to present the view that more research will reveal what must be there. It is postulated that what is desired must be there we just have not found the right way of revealing it. Since it is impossible to prove something does not exist the gun control debate goes on and on add infinitum.
Despite 200 years of frantic and desperate searching such as no other subject has ever received, not one shred of evidence has been found that shows a causal relationship between levels of firearm ownership and crime. To have proof of this causal relationship would be a world first. There have been many many falsified and mangled studies by gun control all have failed the test of validity.
Nobody can doubt the demonstrated lack of ethics of gun control research. The CDC a gun control research organisation has produced many papers still being quoted to this day by gun control advocates This was paid for by public money. The US government in reaction to many objections cut the CDCs grant as it was determined by government to be a gun control propaganda factory wasting public money
In order to restore that funding the CDC set out to prove its research was accurate and valid, examining its own work selecting fifty one of its best research papers as well as much research on gun control laws and interventions.
The findings contained in (First Reports Evaluating the Effectiveness of Strategies for Preventing Violence: Early Childhood Home Visitation) were quietly published and ignored by main stream media. The result: "insufficient evidence to determine the effectiveness of any of the firearms laws reviewed for preventing violence."
This is a typical attempt by a research organisation to obtain more funding in order to find this supposed elusive and unexposed evidence. At least it is honest in stating that no such evidence currently exists.
Its funny how gun control advocates will continue to promote, quote and advertise the patently false and flawed research of the CDC while never ever mentioning this research. The lack of ethics and morality of gun control knows no bounds when it come to spreading the hate and fear of guns that they do in the public.
Logic and reason are not part of gun controls argument.
The numerous comments on the poor quality of work of gun control research are plentiful but the poor quality is not one of error it is one of design. The researchers set out to prove what cannot be proven and manage some how to mangle the data until it agrees.
Nobody is blaming knives for murder or crime or any other object or instrument. Courts correctly put the perpetrator on trial and not the gun. Nor can it be claimed the gun made me do it as mitigating circumstance. Yet here we have one object in the world that defies all objective observation and is the one and only object on this earth that has a mind of its own. There are some crazy people on this earth that is for sure.
But just to be sure that government always spends our money wisely who has Obama designated and funded to investigate the link between guns and public health, none other than than the CDC. Obviously Obama wants propaganda and not facts to promote his usurping of American citizens rights.
The US founding fathers were incredibly forward thinking in giving citizen the means to expel any rouge government and warned citizens. Never ever trust government especially one that seeks to remove your rights or your means to defend those rights and ability to remove any government that is anti-social or oppressive in nature. Apparently citizens don't appreciate the warning and feel they can trust government to not only look after them but to defend them from crime and criminals as well.
Had the founding fathers written the 2nd Amendment in flaming letters 100 ft high the courts and government would still be trying to remove the thorn in their side deliberately put there. The founding fathers knew all governments cannot be trusted but for many their warning appears to have been wasted.
