Many of the MyNews24 bloggers seem to be stuck in Darwinism and Neo-Darwinism as an evolutionary theory but it is logically untenable. To me that evidence is not clear at all. I will list a few serious problems with these THEORIES (as opposed to facts).
Before we start let’s just get one thing clear regarding facts and theories! That an apple will always fall to the earth on earth is a fact. Then we have Newton’s theory of gravitation that gives a very elegant mathematical description of gravity. This was super ceded by Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity which can describe all the phenomena that Newton’s theory could plus a few more. General Relativity is a theory and not a fact. Within the next century it will most likely be replaced by a more inclusive theory.
Now back to the problems with Darwinism.
Problem 1:- That different species cannot inter breed is a fact. Even closely related species like horses and donkeys produce infertile offspring. I have never seen a fertile mule in my life. In fact a mule is synonymous with infertility! For a new species to come about you need a male and female of that species in the same place and at the same time to breed and propagate the new species. With a long stretch of the imagination (very high odds against) Darwinism can explain how one sample of the new species can come about. Now two samples at the same time in the same place are mathematically infinitesimal. Darwin’s theory must be rejected on this discrepancy, as failure to account for just one fact makes the theory null and void.
Problem 2:- According to Darwinism new qualities develop through incremental small changes over long periods of time. The further condition is that it must pass the acid test of “survival of the fittest”. Let’s now investigate a quality like flight and test the theory against this. Flight cannot come about by one single mutation. A number of sub changes must occur to develop flight. So according to the theory these changes will happen over a long period of time. So far so good. Now for the problem! Most if not all the intermediate stages will have no survival value at best and will be detrimental to the survival at worst. That means that according to the criterion of survival of the fittest the species will be extinct before it can develop the new quality. That there are species that can fly (and solved the problem in different ways like birds and insects) is a fact. The theory cannot account for it. The theory must therefore be rejected.
Biology describes many living organisms and can show that these organisms are related. The same gene can be traced from bacteria to humans and prove that we are related. That is a fact. Biology cannot offer us any logically consistent theory that can explain that fact. Biology is purely a descriptive science that cannot give as a scientific testable and logical explanation for life.
That does not mean that we should turn to religion for answers. The answers that are forthcoming from religion are vastly inferior to those of science and in almost all cases to date religion came a very poor second to science as a way to describe reality. That does not mean that science has all the answers!
