To the author of the recent article titled "Doubts about evolution", who struggles with the basic premise of how birds developed wings to fly. A squirrel type animal known as a 'Flying Fox' needed to jump from tree to tree to escape its predator, and developed over time the ability to extend its rib cage and flatten its torso in order to glide (FLY) out of harms way, or move to better feeding grounds using the least energy.
There are too many simple proofs of evolution to mention with regards to flight. Just look to flying fish, bats etc.
Birds developed from primitive reptiles that slowly developed extended digits with membranes inbetween so as to glide from elevated positions, for the same purpose as todays flying fox. There is your answer, and the proof of evolution. Any other opposing theory is a practice in idiocy, including that of god and creationism.
