The scary thought of where our country is heading

26 June 2014, 14:49
I 'jokingly' thought that things were going to change after the May elections, jokes on me.
I am literally at a lost for words reading about the proposed 50/50 commercial farm distribution to people who already have jobs on the farms in question.  What does the ANC government think is going to happen when the farms are in the hands of people who don't know how to run a business? Farms are businesses run by people with the expertise on how to run these important business in our country which will secure food security for the country and not for a few people sitting around a fire in the bush.
The ANC has dug a hole for itself, so deep, that I fear China might soon be visible from the hole, oh the irony. Promises are being made to the people that in my mind will not be a promise kept when the big wigs realize the repercussions of their false promises and realize it will be the downfall of the country if such a elaborate bill must be approved.  What then? Civil unrest, civil war, lets kill all the farmers, who knows?
There is so much negativity in SA at the moment, E-tolls, ongoing corruption, government officials getting away with murder, blatant racism on all levels, the list goes on.
We are approaching the point of no return if this country carries on in the direction it is slumping into...or maybe we are slumped down onto our knees already, feels like it.
Something has to change, because having hope just doesn't cut it anymore. We have been living in hope for change for far too long and to here and no more.
The ANC has now built a dangerous culture of entitlement which will be virtually impossible to eradicate. Giving people free services and social grants without the incentive to study or improve skills or innovate is as we know, a recipe for disaster and who pays the bill, the silenced tax payer.
The cANCer needs to be removed for any light in any tunnel to shine again, but I fear it will still be a long time.
