Many of us feel as did King Macbeth in one of William Shakespeare's plays: "Life but a walking shadow,a poor player. That struts and frets his hour upon the stage. And then is heard no more. It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury. Signifying nothing."
Why do people that all through their lives don't give the existence of a GOD a second thought, and yet when they personally face a life or death situation, cries out to God for help? Does this mean that even to suchlike individuals, humans are not the true centre of meaning in life, but that God is? Does that fact add real meaning to our existence which means depending on God? You decide.
Thinking about such an idea do make some people feel very uncomfortable. Some become even gloomy and pessimistic in their outlook in life. Wherever you live in this world, there is always new scientific discoveries going on right?Biologost, astronomers, physicists, oceanographers and suchlike people constantly keep adding day in and day out to our knowledge about our Earth and life on it. We learning more and more about our solar system, the stars and even distant galaxies. To what does it all these point? A GOD? You be the judge of that.
Why do scientist that spend their whole lives studying the Universe, still feel so empty as if there is no lasting meaning in life? Physicist Steven Weinburg once wrote:"The more the universe seems comprehensible, the more it also seems pointless."
And astronomer Alan Dressler wrote:"When researchers say cosmology reveals the mind or handwriting of God,they are ascribing to the Divine what ultimately may be the lesser aspect of the universe-its physical structure...People have given up the old belief that humanity is at the physical centre of the physical universe, but must come back to believing that we are at the centre of meaning."
Scientific genius Albert Einstein showed us that "Existence is energetic in one form or another...and that the law of conservation of energy states the total amount in the universe must remain constant." To some what Einstein merely pointed out is just the physical universe and that the fuller understanding of existence runs much deeper than that. We humans experience seeing things or energetic patterns come into existence and the same things leave existence. This in itself testifies to the fact that existence itself had a beginning, that it must have come from somewhere. But where, how and by whom or what?
If the universe is expanding or moving then it has a starting point. Is the universe moving from something towards something else? We humans have come to appreciate our perspective of seeing everything changing, that nothing is always constant and neither is everything ever always in the present. Is that why some of us have the difficulty seeing past this sea of moving changes to a stable essence and the true nature behind it all?
Can anything new popup in an essence which is constant? Are there beginnings in a timeless state or condition and why? Our human existence is maintained by our constant heartbeat and breathing cycle without our conscious influence. The conscious part of our being pursues it's inner drive to know itself.
Should we be interested in what our temporary existence in today's hectic life means? Sure why not. Does that mean admitting that there might be a GOD out there and that he gave meaning to our lives and to our existence? Again you decide on that. Can we humans ever fully understand all the nuances of the temporary nature of our existence and what this all really means to us?
