The ugly face of racism

08 March 2013, 14:01

The whole racism issue leaves me in a state of confusion. In so many instances around the world, the form of racism brought up is usually whites against blacks. Why do these two cultural groups get singled out above all the others. This would seem to indicate that only whites can be racist, never ever blacks.

In the African Continent however, every single wholesale massacre and ethnic cleansing, and standard ”Rebels versus the Government” form of African Democracy, is in my mind, based on ethnicity and tribalism.

The classic definition of racism:

1) “Belief in the superiority of one culture, and prejudice based on this”

2) “Antagonism towards other cultures.”, applies completely to the continuous African tribal wars.  As this is one black culture on another black culture, it cannot in the eyes of the population, have the slightest resemblance to racism. In the present South Africa, if you have a white skin and belong to the Caucasian Race, your chances of ever being considered for a Civil Service or Municipal job are basically zero.

For those whites who have worked in State Department under the Old Government and now under the New, you are generally excluded from any promotional path. This is all discrimination of one race against another, simply because of the colour of your skin. In the eyes of all blacks however, this can in no remote way be classified as Racism of any form.  South African Rugby and Cricket are accused of not having enough black representation in their National Teams, but it would be perfectly acceptable for the National Soccer Team “Bafana Bafana”, to not include a single white.

We have a “Black Business Forum” and a “Black Legal Society”. Let the whites do the same, and racism would be screamed to the ceiling. Recently an African woman’s child was bitten by a dog. Her immediate comment was that it was a “Racist Dog” and would only attack blacks. If I claimed the same, I would be laughed of as a loony. As far as I am concerned, well researched Statistics are Statistics, and one should have the freedom to express them.

Let me however state that:

a) The majority of prison inmates are Black

b) Armed robberies, cash van heists, and hijackings are predominantly carried out by blacks.

c) Most housebreak ins are carried out by blacks

d) The highest proportion of HIV infections are within the Black race.

e) Rhinos are nearly all shot by black poachers. Any one of these statement would label me a vicious Racist, who should immediately be charged and appear before the Human Rights Council.

In all Police Statistics, the race of the criminal is never ever to be considered or disclosed. How convenient. All facts are undeniably true, but are sacrosanct, and may never ever be stated by any white man. Say I was a very highly qualified and experienced Professional, who naturally felt superior to much lower employees, straight out of Varsity.

This superior attitude would be totally in order with his white students, but blatantly racist towards any of his black students. In conclusion, I must confess that I am completely confused by the double standards that apply in the term “Racism”
