The unanswerable question

03 March 2014, 14:43

There is a simple question which requires only a "Yes" or "No" answer that is unanswerable by a christian if the christian is truthful. The reason for not being able to answer the question is very simple..both answers lead to the conclusion that jesus christ is not required.

The question is..

Did God know before Eve was created that she would listen to the snake and eat the fruit from the forbidden tree?

If you answer "No" then that implies

1. God is not omniscient and he does not know about everything that happens in the universe. This is contrary to what churches teach.

2. If God is not omniscient then that means that Revelations cannot be true, because if god cannot know what will happen then how can anybody else know what will happen in the future?

3. If Revelations is not true then the bible becomes not true because Revelations is part of the Bible.

4. If the bible is not true, then jesus christ is not required.

If you answer "Yes" then the following problems arise..

1. If God knew even before he created Eve that she would choose to eat the fruit then why did he create her and not some other mate for Adam who would not eat the fruit? Surely if he loves the human race he would have chosen what was best for the human race and not something that condemns humans for ever and ever? For an almighty god it should have been no problem at all to create such an Eve.

2. God would not have needed to create the other Eve without free will. All he needed to do was to examine what would happen if he chose between 100 potential Eves all with free will. As statistics go, 50% of these Eves would have chosen to ignore the snake. He could then just choose to create one of these Eves, yet he deliberately chose the Eve that would choose wrong..

3. Why did he place Eve, the tree and snake in close proximity to each other if he was absolutely 100% sure that she would choose the wrong option? He could have easily avoided the problem by simply planting the tree on the other side of the world? The only answer is that he wanted Eve to sin.

4. The logical answer is that god did not act in the best interest of the human race and it was a case of deliberate entrapment so that humans could be punished. In this case god cannot be trusted. If god cannot be trusted, then the bible cannot be trusted. If the bible cannot be trusted, then jesus christ is not required.

There can be only one conclusion from the above and that is.. there needed to be original sin because if there is no original sin, then jesus christ is not required.

So what do you answer to the question..

Did God know before Eve was created that she would listen to the snake and eat the fruit from the forbidden tree?

Yes, or No.
