This is insane - but we are all doing it.

So what are you paying for in that trolley ?

What goes in a marketing budget?
A marketing budget typically covers costs for advertising, promotion and public relations. Each amount varies based on the size of the business, its annual sales and how much the competition is advertising. Depending on the industry, marketing budgets can range from as low as 1% of sales to over 30%. New companies may spend as much as 50% of sales for introductory marketing programs in the first year. Smaller business may just try to match the spending of their direct competitors.
The overall marketing budget  includes:
print and broadcast advertisingdesign and printing costs for all print materials, such as newsletters, brochures and press releases, direct mail costsWeb site developmentpublic relationstrade showsany other special events needed
So you walk into a supermarket and buy a trolley of goodies. Anything from 30 - 50% of the cost of your purchases will land up in the dustbin and in the landfills within days of your purchasing them. How much money are you literally throwing away ?
Is there a better way ?
That is where this swear word comes in. MLM usually followed by the word scheme and everybody finds something else to do. But wait, stick with me here. What is the basis of multilevel marketing? Maybe you know it by its other term, referral marketing. We all know that it entails your friends and family etc. It is basically recommending to others products or services that you have found to be valuable because it is really good or really cheap. Value for money is normally what defines whether it finds its way into our trolley. Who do you trust more to determine that value. The bright colours and special box shape half-filled and sold per weight not per volume. Do you perhaps trust a friend who has actually used the product or service and can recommend it, warts and all.
Now what if this true value system of marketing meant that the 30%-50% of the cost of the product comes off the price and is paid to the person or people who recommended it. Isn't that a way to get more people out of the charity ques and give them there self respect back ?
In 2007 - 2008 crash millions of people lost their jobs, their homes and families were torn apart. Why is that a better option than spending a little extra time to build some security into your lives whilst you still can? Economists including Warren Buffet have been warning us of an impending crash in 2014 - 2015.
Would you be prepared to just look at an alternative or will you wake up too late. The time to act is now.
