Innocent until found guilty is the infamous legal maxim
that only enriches lawyers and while I might sound as if I feel you are guilty
this is not the case.
This is about being a man in front of adversity.
This case is not going to be over in a few weeks’ time;
in fact it is going to take years and years of litigation and the pressure on
you and your family is only starting.
The Steenkamp family will relive this nightmare every
time you appear in court, have they not suffered the ultimate price already?
Should you be denied bail then you will soon start wishing for a speedy end to
the court case.
In 2005, the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention
noted that South Africa’s awaiting trial population is placed “in conditions
that are often far worse than those convicted and that the lack of adequate
facilities is so blatant that they do not meet minimum standards.
For those suffering from illnesses, this results in the
aggravation of their health problems or even the death of some persons.” (1) I
really doubt it has improved since then and is probably way worse now.

Your family are innocent victims in this. Your lawyers
are there to do their work and while I agree to fair justice for all they are
in this for the money and the money only.
So if you are guilty (only you know the real truth) call
a meeting between the National Prosecuting Authority, your legal team and
yourself and plea bargain this nightmare away.
Show the world that you are a man even under extremely
difficult times, don’t become a Molemo "Jub Jub" Maarohanye or a Shrien
If you know in your heart that you are not guilty of
murder then good luck and “vasbyt (2)”.
