I’m sure you’ve heard this phrase before, “if you cannot find the job you want, you need to create it”. That is among the reasoning behind the thoughts of our criminal class in this Country. The Proletariat are working themselves to the bone and paying a higher portion of their income to their ruling Comrades (the soldiers that rule this Nation) and those without work are employing the only means that they can to survive in a Country that failed to deliver on their promises to create work for them. If Louis XV hadn’t uttered the immortal words of “after me, the flood”, then Nelson Mandela would have certainly uttered these words.
South Africa’s criminal class did the only thing that they could in the circumstances that they were put in and / or with the hand that they were dealt. They created career opportunities for themselves as well as for their unemployed brothers, which the elite few did not create for them. They created the career path of crime, i.e, the careers that they could with the limited resources that they had, and are in that way living up to the philosophy created by Machiavelli, “do everything that is necessary”. I understand the logic behind their reasoning, if I was put into their shoes, I would have done the same thing, that is after all what Hugo’s hero Jean Valjean did for the mere sake of getting by and surviving. It is our survival instinct and / or our normal God created responses driving us at times like these. After all, we can never truly presume to know someone until we take a walk around in his or her shoes.
I have a story to share with all of you. A couple of years back, I was driving along and my car window was smashed while I was waiting for a red robot to turn green which it seemed to take a very long time in doing, and my possessions that I had with me in my vehicle were stolen. Being the analytical person that I am, I looked at the circumstances behind the incident from various points of view after the fact. I later concluded that the thief in question had only robbed me because he required my possessions so that he could buy himself more time and extend his lifespan.
If I could turn back time and go back to the incident, the only thing I would have done differently is perhaps have placed my possessions elsewhere, irrespective of which the incident would have eventually occurred in perhaps another manner or point in time.
The rate at which this Country keeps going at the moment will not serve to hinder or curb the careers of the criminal class until they find themselves an honest means of employment. The only way that this will happen is if the greedy and the powerful Machiavelli’s that rule this Nation change their tune and start keeping their promises.
