With some seeing the departure of Nelson Mandela as a loss, I see it as an opportunity, an opportunity to soak in all the good he and our forefathers fought for, an opportunity to stand up as a man and continue to fight for what is right, to fight for the future of our children and their children.
Our great history is not all written in books but in the minds of our elders, and the passing of Madiba marks a passing of an era, an era rich with a wealth of teachings
Teachings of love
Teachings of patience
Teachings of Ubuntu
Should we not be attentive, we might lose our heritage of knowledge, and be in danger of repeating our mistakes over again
So my question to the nation is, do we continue to live passively as if nothing has happened, as if the wounds from the past mean nothing to us?
Do we continue to ignore the fact that a huge percentage of our nation is still living in poverty and children are dying of HIV related illnesses?
South Africa, let us not lose the plot, we are on the right path, let us revive the spirit of Ubuntu and freedom, lets regain the trust of our people, and let us restore the faith.
