Together we move South Africa forward

14 January 2014, 14:03

The ANC has just emerged from the successful launch of its 2014 Election Manifesto and the release of the annual National Executive Committee January 8 Statement to mark the the movement's anniversary since its launch on the day in 1912..

Through the event hosted in the Mpumalanga province the ANC giant loomed so large that detractors were left feeding on grass out of sheer embarassment. The 53 000 capacity Mbombela World Cup stadium was packed to capacity and more than this figure was accomodated in designated overflow areas - a matchless feat in the history of South African politics.

The opposition was left salivating with envy at the ANC overwhelming support, unity and cohesion! The media booers were truly and verily booed.

The ANC 2014 Election Manifesto under the theme, Together We Move South Africa Forward, marks the Second Phase of Transition in which the party will implement radical socio-economic transformation to meaningfully address poverty, unemployment and inequality.

Over the next five years, the ANC will:

- build an inclusive economy.

- transfrom rural areas.

- ensure decent living conditions and sustainable human settlemets.

- improve and expand education and training.

- ensure quality health care for all.

- expand comprehensive social security

- fight corruption and crime

- build a united nation and promote social cohesion.

Through the 2014 Election Manifesto the ANC is walking the talk of its ambitious National Development Plan. The country and the world have a clear indication of the direction the ANC is going. There are no buts about the ANC election platform - it is out in the open for scrutiny and further elaboration.

As President Jacob Zuma says in the Foreword to the Manifesto:

"This Manifesto is the result of a wide consultation process with our allies, involving communities and key sectors of society including workers, business, religious, youth and women's organisations and several academics. We will continue to consult as we embark on its implemetation."

For now, as it is always the case, it is only the ANC out there with its detractors absent. The media and commentators are at loss for words as the ANC elephant romps home to another overwhelming electoral victory.

This is the victory earned through a clear vision for the future which only the ANC and the ANC alone can offer.

The Manifesto is dedicated to Tata Madiba - one of the greatest leaders ever produced by our people and movement.
