The rapist of a 74 year old, walks free because he was brought before the court a day late.
Can a person believe this, is the justice system here in favor of the criminals? Should the rapist not have been rearrested immediately or is this not how it works?
No wonder mob justice and giraffe courts have been practiced in the townships over the ages, as it will seem as if the system, and the crooked lawyers that defend them, is failing the public at large.
Maybe a bit of justice Middle East style is required, to sort out the immediate problems in this country. That being that if you are a thief your hand gets sliced off (we will have a lot of handless persons in government, but it might stop the rot), and if you are a rapist you get stoned to death.
Then you look at the crowd that was arrested at Marikana, have they all had their day in court, or should they not go free as well? So that the real problem the Labour company, run by brethren, deliberately cheat their work force and walk about free.
The press report on misspent money on a daily basis, the responsible persons go on extended leave at full pay until a hearing is scheduled, and then the problem just disappears, and then they come back in a more senior position or are “re-deployed”.
How can the system be trusted the criminals are continuously being protected by technicalities and loopholes.
