Unnecessary Pistorius Trial Coverage

18 February 2014, 10:58
It shocks me how the Oscar Pistorious trial dominated Carte Blanche this last Sunday Night the 16th of Feb!

This false illusion that they aired this particular segment because the trial must be open for all to see and they are dedicated to the upholding of our sacred doctrine "justice must not only be done, but also seen to be done" is misleading and unfounded most importantly due to the fact that the trial has not even started yet! So why are we airing anything on the trial at all right now, there will be plenty of time for that come next month from the kick off of the murder trial.
NO mention of the intolerance of the ruling party shown to peaceful opposition which was highlighted during the DA jobs march on Wed.
Very out of character for Carte Blanche to ignore such an important event.
Especially seeing as though this event affected the safekeeping of democracy in South Africa and happened only a few days before Carte Blanche aired.....and we all as South Africans know that Carte Blanche is on top of and airs all current and pressing issues.

I am concerned that this Oscar Pistorious trial has been strategically postponed and placed by our "Government owned justice system" so as to dominate the media during the 2014 SA Elections.

I believe that this internationally famous murder trial is going to completely consume the media and the public, so that important issues that should be focused on, regarding the elections and policies, are going to be ignored!
I believe that this Oscar Pistorius Murder trial has been strategically and politically placed in order to draw attention away from the failures of the ruling party of our country during this critical Election period.Right now our media should be focusing on issues in this country such as service delivery protests, crime, corruption and the misuse of public funds.
Unfortunately it seems attention on crimes that are killing this country are going to take a back seat to one murder trial of which the outcome is not going to directly affect anyone in this country.
