Unseating Pres JG ZUMA by deploying Madam Ramphele

03 February 2014, 13:49

From the statement of the DA leader that says DA believes that it was a rare decision for a political party to offer the Presidential Position to a leader of another party, it raises questions of leadership qualities within the DA structures.

Not long ago Honourable Lindiwe Mazibuko was sworn in Parliament as a DA leader over the Athol Trollip who was leading DA before. The big idea was to attract more African black people to join DA as it was a party that is transforming. I think yes black Africans did join as they bought into the idea of transformation and that DA can be trusted if they do trust a young black female to lead the party in Parliament.

The strategy that is used by the DA somehow falls short as they are focussed on useating the mighty ANC and Pres JG Zuma. This comes out on the statement of the DA leader as she says that they acquired the services of Madam Mamphele Ramphele to enforce their (DA) leadership.

What is evident is that the DA focus is at Pres JG Zuma not on reducing poverty and inequalities on society. These two problems are dividing our society even further than the times of apartheid.

In conclusion, the DA must channel its resources and energy on devising strategies on fighting poverty, inequalities not on acquiring or renting a black leader and also Pres JG Zuma is not immortal, his time will come into an end and what will be the focus then from DA? Will they focus on the new leader? Will they tell us about his/her weaknesses too?
