As a smartie (choccie on the inside and pink on the outside) I feel that I don't have any rights. Everybody who is not me has opportunities better than I do and my excuses are more valid than theirs are!
Thus I propose that Coconuts and Smarties alike protest the following points!
I'm not allowed to apply for a job, oh wait, I am.
I'm not allowed to be spectacular at my job and get promoted or improve my CV for my awesomeness, oh wait, I am.
I'm not allowed to start a business, oh wait, I am.
I'm not allowed to make a spectacular comeback from financial failure, oh wait I am.
I'm not allowed to keep improving my skills via part time education, oh wait I am.
Really people! We were born in SA with this soil in our blood. Potholes or flippin poo in the water or whatever, no single person in this country who is not bed ridden has any right to moan. Just roll up your sleeves and grow a pair.
The rule of problem solving is this: You are not permitted to complain about that which you are unwilling to solve.
I don't care if there is BEE or AAA or whatever. I'm a flippin tree! The more crap you throw at me, the more opportunity for growth I see!
Crime is a vicious problem yes, but that means our farms have become a frontier and lagers need to be drawn! You do not solve a problem by whining about it, you solve it by solving it.
Here where we are, nobody sommer gets in to murder a family. It's everybody's problem (both smarties and coconuts). We have set up forums and watches and all sorts of braai and potjie inspiring activities that bring communities together. Criminals are cowards, they take the path of least resistance, so give them as much resistance as possible and do your homework to see when it is ok to the rubbish in the ground. They won't come within 50 km of your property.
Vote when you can, protest when you can and do what must be done to get things the way they should be.
It's all in the attitude.
Don't just lie there and take the beating, shake the depression and rise above it like true Saffers do.

Take a look in the mirror sometime and realize that you are capable of a lot more than you think you are. You're not soft man. Quit acting like a coward, go watch a Rocky fliek or something!
