War deaths

26 November 2012, 14:27
AMERICAN WAR DEATHS.      This article may be of a macabre nature  but I believe there are some insights to be had. It came to life, no pun intended.

This article is not intended to debase or humiliate, or attack persons or instances of the United States of America. The information supplied is open to the public.

The article covers 35 wars waged by The US of A over a period of 226 years: from the American Revolutionary war 1785 to 1795 and hell bent for election to 2011 in Iraq.
The war which had the most fatalities was the Civil war 1861 to 1865: - 625*000 deaths. While the lowest recorded  death rate  was in Bosnia at 12 deaths  1995 - 2004.

The total deaths over the entire period from 1785 to 2011: -  1*319*729     What is of interest is that the wars were seldom following one after the other but tend to overlap and subsequently they may have 4 wars on the go simultaneously eg.Civil war  1861 to 1865: then The Indian  wars 1865  to 1898 and the great Sioux war 1875 1877.  Then they were fighting the Mexican revolution 1914 to 1919, the Haiti occupation 1915 to 1935 and WW1  1917 to 1918 and then the North Russian campaign from 1918 to 1920   WW2  1941 to 1945  405*399 deaths. Korean war  1950 to 1953: 36*516 deaths. Then two years later they took on the Vietnam conflict: 1955 to 1975: 58*209 deaths. The war in Afghanistan commenced in 2001 and it still ongoing and the death figure is 2145 in 2011.

The war in Iraq commenced in 2003 to ended in 2011. The death toll was 4485;.  TheSpanish  American war took place in the year of 1898 with 2446 deaths. The Philippine American war from 1898 to 1913 running initially parallel with the American Spanish war for the year of 1898. The deaths for the Philippine war was 4196  Persian gulf war 1990 to 1991 and deaths are 258.  Somalia intervention 1992 to 1995 with 43 deaths.

All the fatalities as given above are due to enemy action and not other causes like disease or accidents.  The overall death figure is  2*857*648 and is all inclusive for the entire history of  American wars and conflicts.

South Africa‘s population at the latest consensus was 51*770*560: the white population was 4,586838 million and is 8,9 % of the national population.

Then the Deaths of all the Americans that died in all the wars would be 5,544 % of the South African population. Roughly 50% of the white population.FOR FURTHER INFORMATION GOOGLE:  AMERICAN WAR DEATHS;.All information set out in this article was compiled from the internet and that compilation was done by the relevant American Departments on the subject. There has been cases where some of the information is not accurate and differ from other sources. Casualties in Vietnam is an example.
