Well, I know people say: “Don’t read the news.” That’s not really the point, is it? Isn’t news there to be red (read)? My thing is does the news always have to be bad, negative, sickening, pornographic and murderous? Are there no journalists out there who’ve dug their teeth into a good story to share with us – instead of downloading, copying and pasting whatever they find on the Internet? I swear, anyone nowadays can call themselves: Journalist!
Be all that as it may, I kinda realize why there is so much bad news and from January this year ‘til now – it’s getting worse and (mark my words) it will get worse still. If we can (and I’m trying) put a little more love and tolerance in our hearts and minds we could possibly see things turn around?
As flowers, trees and animals are all different, so are we humans but unlike the aforementioned we have a conscience and the know-how to make things better, but, there are conditions and if all the brilliant politicians would consider the following – who knows how things might change? We have to:
Stop calling evil – good!
Regain our spiritual equilibrium and reverse our values.
Stop exploiting the poor and calling it “One day’s one day!” that is: the lottery
Stop rewarding laziness by calling it: “Welfare!”
Stop killing unborn, (sentient beings) and calling it: “My Body, my Choice!”
Stop neglecting to discipline our children and calling it: “Building Self-esteem;”
Stop, greedy, unscrupulous, lying, deceitful, thieving, dumb-ass politicians;
Stop yearning for/stealing from our neighbour’s thinking we can get away with it by calling it: “Ambition!”
Seriously … stop polluting the air with profanity and pornography and then calling it: “Freedom of Expression!” South Africa is actually becoming dirty-minded!
Stop pussy-footing around criminals! We changed capital punishment and now call it “correctional services?” Have you EVER? How many “corrected” prisoners do you know of?
Am I living in my own little world? Well, I guess I am and I like it here coz everyone knows me! Have a splendid, hardworking, easy traffic-flowing week ahead and remember: Keep smiling! It’ll make everyone wonder what you’re up to. J
