Everybody is always dreaming about that dream wedding one day. I remember during my high school years how girls in my class use to fantasise about that dream wedding and that so-called hunk that would propose to them in the most romantic way that would surpass human understanding. Everybody always wanted that perfect wedding one day, even guys in my high school use to discuss that dream girl that they want to marry one day.
Well shockingly that high school fantasy is getting distorted each day. In the day and age we living in that high school picture is starting to look like a cracked oil painting. Sadly we are living in times that marriages are becoming a joke. Couples are committing to serious covenants in front of that pulpit, Judge or any other licensed marriage officer .I’ve heard of marriages that broke up within 2months, then why bother spending all that money on a dream ceremony.
Does the line "until death do us apart" ring a bell? Or my favourite line “through good times and bad times”.
ot too long ago I asked myself, does the above line refer to physical death only? What If the love dies? Even better what if the spark or so called chemistry dies out completely? It gets even worse what if the trust dies? What if security or that feeling of safety dies in your marriage? What if communication dies? There are so many elements in a marriage that can fade away. I suppose the death of the important elements could lead to the end of a marriage. Or are we so busy that we don’t allow love to grow.
Maybe the challenge would be in keeping those important elements alive ,or maybe we should start teaching our children how to communicate .It’s not my wish to challenge the sanctity of marriage but I would rather take this opportunity to make my fellow countrymen and woman aware of my questions with regards to this topic. Maybe if I’m right we could all have a perfect picture of a cracked oil painting.
