What exactly is going on here?

09 January 2014, 13:12

As I was watching news on a news channel called Russia Today (www.rt.com), they were showing the preparations for the Olympics to be hosted there. A thought crossed my mind after they showed what is called the Olympic torch travel.

Being a South African, every day when I go to work I see people begging. Some beg for money and some for jobs (From not knowing what the employer will offer [Not knowing what the employer needs help with and not knowing how much one will get] to forcefully washing someone’s car window for a little reward). Then I wondered, does Russia has people going through this? If not I thought, fair enough…then everyone is happy there.

But then South Africa hosted a similar event (Soccer World Cup) in 2010. I understand that they (we [The South Africans]) did not have to spend money to transport the torch under water, on land (normal) and also in space. But yes, a lot of money was spent on infrastructure. But people were still living this difficult life even then. People were told this will boost the economy, and so life will get better and people will be happy. Then I thought I still don’t see change, it seems to be getting worse.

I quickly found myself back at the original thought, what exactly is going on here?

We are told every day that the economy is not doing well (like telling a child he/she can’t get a present because daddy does not have money), we are told of a foreseen shortage of food and water and also of us causing the global warming (We deserve to be punished with what is so called Carbon TAX).

Here in South African we hear that a lot of money was used to upgrade the president’s residential place and the security to the establishment. We just introduced electronic tolling on the roads (How does this make you feel happy? [The South African reader]), I mean you are also being threatened if you decide not to pay.

Syria is at war, US is really busy using those drones, it won’t help to state the obvious….there are a lot more problems. What is really going on?

Let’s get to where I got stuck, are we making any effort as humans to solve this problems? I understand most of u are busy with something, young ones going to school, teenagers going tertiary institutions to learn how to solve the problems of the world, grownups going to work so that they can feed the young ones and the elders who can’t work for themselves, soldiers going to war, presidents planning a good life for all, rebels rebelling against their governments, etc. But at for all this years we have been doing this, it does not seem to show any progress. Are we on the right track?

Is it not time we look really deep within, ask ourselves questions (instead of looking for answers from those who also don’t know the truth)?

To me it seems we have become machines with remote controls and a few people are having fun playing games.

Without Unity it has become pointless for human life, unless we all really want this schism. If you have not noticed humanity is stuck in a loop and you will never be happy until others are happy.

If you think I am paranoid keep looping.
