What is our Problem?

01 February 2013, 15:55

Did all South Africans turn into idiots? We are supposed to be this wonderful nation, but boy, o, boy are we ignorant!

We all need to get over ourselves. Take these right-wingers for example. Every day I read how people insult them, wish they rot in jail, wish they die etc, etc. And nobody seems to have a problem with it... This coming from a nation whose icon, former President Mandela, himself, was found guilty of treason.

Yes sir, just think a little further than your nose. This democracy was the consequence of the Rivonia trial. No, let us not waste any more of our precious little brain function on Sewende Laan or Isidingo and let us focus for a second here. I did some research and apparently, all these Right-wing people want is some form of self-determination. Why the hell do we not give it to them?

Look, we all agree Apartheid was a bad idea, but hey, guess what; in Apartheid blacks were allowed to govern over themselves in the homelands! So what we are actually saying is that these people are asking for self-determination, just like the blacks of this country were given under the Apartheid-rule, and we are denying it...  (Doesn’t that imply the current government is even worse than Apartheid?)

And then we wonder “Why do they want to blow things up?” How stupid can one nation be? Just give them a piece of land and all these extremists will disappear. It is that easy. Zuma just build his own version of a private homeland for himself... But he refuses to even talk to these people. Why?

Some people will just not fit into the New South Africa. Why do we want to beat them into submission? You can’t beat somebody to like you. This is an infringement of their human rights, like it or not, they do have the same rights to dignity as you. If they don’t like it, let them leave. So what? What difference will it make if they are gone?

Or do we just keep them around so that we have somebody to kick, humiliate and spit on? Is this the wonderful, hypocritical society, we are so proud of? Practice what you preach and let these people move on. (Irony is that they are probably going to build some modern, highly advanced first-world country somewhere in the desert, but, hey, what do we care, they are too white to get a job in SA anyway...)
