Would prayer help?
I write this because lots of religious people write that they will pray for me. I get quite a variety of religious people sending me private messages on my Facebook profile, where they tell me they’re going to pray for me. I appreciate that they are concerned about me, but I really don’t understand their 'logic'.
I write the next part as if I believe that the Christian God exists (not that I do).
According to Christian dogma, God had a Mysterious Plan for the world, even before He created the world. So, He knew exactly what was going to happen to you and me, long before I was born. Whether you pray for me or not.
That also means that God knew that you were going to pray for me even before you prayed. It was thus decided, before you prayed, that your prayer is not important at all. Regardless of your prayer, I'll sing in heaven or burn in hell.
So, why do you pray for me, as God won’t change His mysterious plan? He knew that he would accept it or reject it, long before you did it. No human free will involved.
Please enlighten me about the 'logic' involved in praying, seeing that prayers won’t change the mysterious plan.
