Since the beginning the mission of the enemy of souls was to bring men into rebellion against the government of God. for the devil is "like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour."- 1 Peter 5:8. Men bought into his lies, thus our world is filled with confusion. It is the will of the devil that Christians should be brought under his rule, thus disconnecting themselves from God. He present truth mixed with error to bring men under the banner of his deceptions.
From ages past, even to the times of the Christian fathers till now, the devil has brought errors in the Christian faith in order to lead professed Christians into error. Those Christians who were not true to their faith could not stand-up for the truth against the popular views held by the world. When we profess to be Christians yet living contrary to the written truth of God we deceive ourselves and bring reproach to God and the heathen blaspheme God because of us. Though this message is specifically directed to Christians, even he who desire the truth of God is directed to him. Now let the truth expose some of the errors held by some professed Christians who have compromised the truth, not for offending them but that they could be corrected from the views they hold.
1. Theistic Evolution
This "theory" or belief is one of the big deceptions of the times, the masterpiece of the devil, a theory which present truth mixed with error. Evolution mixed with the truth of God. How can God use some long period of times to create this earth? Where is that written in the Scriptures? Did Christ, the Creator himself, believe in theistic evolution or the creation account? Though this doctrine is full of error yet there are those who call themselves Christians yet believe it, denying the creation account. But why? is it because they feel the heat from the world with their popular view of evolution or trying to be accepted by the world?
Scripture clearly shows us that God created this world in six literal days and on the seventh day rested, not because he was weary. Genesis 1 and 2 support this. Exodus 20:11 is much clearer when it says,"For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day..." Theistic Evolution is a lie and not biblical and any Christian should renounce it if he is to follow the Holy Scriptures. For when we say it is through theistic evolution that God created this our world then we say he is not powerful. You see, God "spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast."- Psalm 33:9, thus the mighty power of God is revealed.
And to the great extant the theistic evolutionists go against the views of the Master himself, Christ Jesus. Christ clearly vindicate the creation account because he himself said in Mark 10:6 and 13:19; "But from the beginning of creation , God made them male and female" "such as has not been since the beginning of the creation which God created until this time, nor ever shall be." So let us not contaminate our minds with the doctrines of devils "avoiding the profane and idle babblings and contradictions of science falsely so called."- 1 Timothy 6:20.
"If a male lies with male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination..." "...For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature...also the men, burned with lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful..."- Leviticus 20:14, Romans 1:26,27. What a description of our times also! The Bible clearly showing that God is against this yet it seem like there are some professed Christians who are starting to tolerate this abomination. Some may say "God loves everyone, we sinners also.", True that God loves us all and that we sinners but that does not mean God will tolerate any sinful act, including this abomination. For God loves the sinner, but hate the sin. You see Christ came to save us FROM SIN not IN SIN.
Christ clearly show that God made a relationship between 1 man and 1 woman, a marriage between a man and a woman when he says,"But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female."- Mark 10:6. You see? Then why would those who profess to be his followers support that which he don't support? Furthermore the Scripture say, "a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh."- Genesis 2:24 and Paul would say inspired by God, "Nor was man created for the woman, but woman for man."- 1 Corinthians 11:19.
Although we are not to tolerate the evil, but we are to love this souls. For they also need a Saviour, but never compromise truth, neither should we go protesting on streets when the governments of the day pass laws of such abomination, legalizing same-sex marriage, for it is not for us to interfere with the state but we are to preach the truth with love, not watering down the message just because we do not want to "offend" and have favor with the world. We do not need the approval of the world, but that of God.
3. The Law of God
Have you ever heard the saying "The law has been done away with at the cross" from some professed Christians? But have you ever wondered which law was that? Did you know that there were two types of laws in the old testament? The law which was written by Moses in a book, which we call the Ceremonial law, and the the Moral law which are the ten commandments written with the finger of God? I cannot go to this is issues at the moment but the law which was done away with was the Ceremonial law not the ten commandments, for they still stand.
The word say; "If anyone sins, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ our righteous." This is because "If we confess our sins he is faithful and Just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness."- 1 John 2:1 and 1:9. Now a question arises, what is Sin? What is the definition of sin? It is written; "Whosoever sin transgress the law, for sin is the transgression of the law."- 1 John 3:4. And since the moral law is the one which still stands, when you sin you transgress/break it. So if those who insist that Christ has done away with the law, then why would the two previous verses be there in the scriptures, saying we to confess and ask for forgiveness if we sin (break the law) if the law was no longer binding?
Am I saying that by obeying the law by ourselves will get us to heaven? No! Works cannot save us yet "faith without works is dead" We are Justified by faith through Christ not by the law. see Galatians 3:16. Through the law we have knowledge of sin, thus pointing us to the Saviour. Christ came to fulfill the law, to live it out, to satisfy it that through his righteousness we can be Justified and that through him we can keep the law, not by our own power, but by his power. Paul asks, "What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? Certainly not!"-Romans 6:15. Paul is asking, should we break/transgress (sin) the law? Just because we not under it but under grace? No we shouldn't. Thats the point here. In other version it says "God forbid!" You see Christ say "if you love me keep my commandments."- John 14:15, even God's people in the end time are said to "keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus" and that "Blessed are those who keep His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates of the city (New Jerusalem)."- Rev 12:17 and 22:14. The law is still valid, for in James we are even told that we to "speak and so do as those who will be Judged by the law of liberty."- James 2:12.
It is incorrect to say "oh! Christ died for us, we can sin and sin since we are just human, the law was done away with, all you just have to do is believe and you'll be saved." The law has ever been the controversy between God and Satan, Satan would want us believe that the law is been done away with so as to continue sinning. But did you know that by sinning (breaking the law) separate us from God? see Isaiah 59:2. We can be victors over sin through Christ. Let us not be deceived.
"But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves."- James 1:22
