During this week it saddens me to read all the stories of the poor people that got killed in the bomb blast in Afghanistan and my heart felt condolences goes out to all the family and friends.
What we are seeing here though is more and more people are willing to take the risk of working in an country or environment where the chances of something like this happening to you is quite big.Surely they all knew of the risks involved aspecially with a war going on there and all the news that we read and here of suicide bomb attack in Afghanistan.
We are being forced to do this as jobs are scarce and we have no other alternative.Countries always need aviation staff as in this case and we sometimes have to weight the odds.the question that jumps to mind for me would have been my family vesus being killed by a bomb blast or something similar. Is it worth taking that risk ?
People sometimes have the miss perseption that being a pilot for instance you will also find work in South Africa and trust me that is not the case.I worked in this sector for many years and it is hard. For any one in this country lately it is hard to get a job and unfortunatly war brings in contracts and jobs.
RIP all of you and may god be with you.
