Where is the media?

04 July 2014, 11:33

On Tuesday 01 July NUMSA started their apparent unavoidable strike for an unacceptably large wage increase. Since Tuesday there has not been a peep from any news media about what has been going on in the industrial areas.

Are people even aware of what these NUMSA hooligans are even doing and why is no one reporting on it? The only article I have seen is about how NUMSA denies denies denies that this is a violent strike. Do people know that Apex was evacuated yesterday due to violence and severe damage to public and private property? Do people know that a power station in Kempton park was burnt down last night and has left hundreds of people without power. Do people know how many millions of rand damage has been inflicted on building and factories let alone the moneys lost due to down time? Do people know that the police stand around watching as 100s of NUMSA members go around pushing down fences, throwing rocks through car windows, wreaking havoc in factories and general offices alike and beating up people who happen to actually want to work and earn a living?

No, people don’t know any of this due to the lack of media intervention. This isn’t a strike, this is pure savagery and just an excuse to inflict damage.

So once again I ask WHY IS NO ONE REPORTING ON THIS?
