I would like to thank everyone for your enthusiastic participation in the 'focus group' in the comment section of my previous post regarding the White Victim Complex (WVC):
You have contributed greatly to medical research, most of you reaffirming everything I mentioned on that list, and inspiring me to further expand on it. Before I continue I'd like to clarify that I am a white person myself, living in fear of contamination. In my opinion, the best person to adress 'white racism' and consequently WVS is a white person, thus I'd like to politely request people who comment on my articles to stop asking that I write about 'black racism/entitlement' or whatever else you perceive to be 'black issues'. There are plenty of non-white people out there writing about these 'issues', go read there if you're interested.
So, here's some more information on WVC:
1. As I briefly mentioned above, people with WVC often feel entitled to requests random bloggers on shitty news sites to tailor their posts to suit THEIR tastes. Because people with WVC don't bow before change, change should bow before them. I've been asked why I don't write about 'black issues', 'liberal treasonous complex' and The ANC just to name a few. It seldom occurs to these WVC folks that they could easily just get off their lazy butts and write their own rants. Which makes me conclude this point with the hypocracy fueled by WVC. It feeds off the laziness of the sufferer whilst endowing the sufferer with the moral right to disdainfully brand others as lazy. 2. Bear with me on this point, this is a total mind f@ck (making sense of the mental state of WVC sufferers): Quite a few respondents in the 'focus group' assumed that I was either black, or married to a black person. Does this mean that only black people find racism offensive? How about whites, Indians and coloureds? And can white people only find racism abhorable once married to a black person? Like white people can't identify racism without the help of black people? Are you thus implying that all white people are racist? 3. That also links with the notion of 'white guilt'. According to some WVC sufferes white people that adress racism suffer from 'white guilt'. Because, presumably 'sane' white people are all racist?4. Then my o-so-favourite topic, the government: The moment one tells a WVC sufferer that they should stop blaming the government for everything, they immediately assume that you are an ANC supporter. They tend to think if you don't like racism you obviously think South Africa is heaven, and your perspective blinkered. Because in South Africa only the government causes problems and only THEY can be critiqued. There is a notion (or is it a justification?) that WVC is caused by the government alone, and will thus only be eradicated once Jesus has arrived. 5. Few WVC sufferers give heed to the expression: If the shoe fits. I never said all white people have WVC, so if this doesn't apply to you, chill, and help weeding out the problem. Or go watch cricket.6. Few people with WVC have the ability to debate. They either accuse everyone challenging their views of being high, or they cut and paste lenghty megalomanic mumbo jumbo about how the 'white man' failed to tame the barbarians'. Despite this narrative being really old, vague and flawed, WVS sufferers tend to always present it as if it's ground breaking stuff.
That's it then folks, let's hope the WVC doesn't spread too fast tonight given all the celebrations. Keep these points in mind just in case - reflect, listen, learn, and beat this disease... Let's hope for a WVC-free 2014!
