Who cares what you think?

25 April 2014, 22:05
WHO CARES WHAT YOU THINK?
I figured out that people are not as optimistic about your idea as you do! as though your whole life depends on it.

HOW TO BE HEARD
When you sense that you have an idea that could solve a problem or add value to existing structures, avoid the usual tendency to indulge in silly validation questions such as “What do think of this…Do you think I should do this?” etc.

Have you ever given attention to the thought that many ideas never came to materialize because a trusted friend dismissed or disapproved them? So if you do not seem convinced about your idea, why would you even expect your audience to have a slight conviction thereof?

In case you have not noticed, people buy into your conviction not your talk. In as much as you are not sold out to your idea at the initial stage of conception as confirmed by your doubts, uncertainties, need for approval or validation, it will then be the same expectation from your audience.

Instead your ultimate goal should be to sell your idea or tell your story in ways that will resonate with your viewers, readers, hearers and followers. Show them why your idea matters to them. Sell them benefits not the product. Sell them the outcome not the content. People respond to things that only matter to them. So next time do not be mad even if your best friend may not see eye to an eye with your views.

Remember it is your idea not yours. It was birthed in you alone and the nurturing and growth of it depends entirely on your conviction thereof.
