Why Christians should engage in politics

01 April 2014, 11:58
Sometimes we live life as a naive child... we build ourselves a little bubble around us and pretend that negative things dont happen...that we can all live in a fairy tale land where everything is banana, pineapple and coconut.... where we can join a comfortable Christian club ( CCC) and pay our tithes and offerings and it will all go away... and well if it doesn't... we can move from one place to another like many people have done... gone to countries where the political government is stable... but did anyone take a moment o think... how did those countries become stable? its simple... because people stood up... they stood up and made a difference instead of complaining about it.

mmmm.... No... I dont think so...

I remember myself sometimes as a child... I always smiled... despite what happened to me... i always had a smile on my face...then when i grow up and i experienced pain i didn't always have that smile on my face...but deep inside of me there was always a place i would go to to regenerate that heartbreak. my life has always been about recovering my smile... and i wish it were as easy as just smiling spontaneously and just being happy...but it isnt always that easy... when the Buddha saw suffering he stopped smiling.

we cannot pretend to live in cloud cuckoo land as christian believers and say... suffering is none of my business..its Gods business ... im just here to preach the gospel.... Jesus speaks exactly to these kind of people by saying...when i was hungry you fed me etc... the very act of being salt and light in your nation is a political act and cannot be separated from the gospel... we only need to look at the courageous Christians in Germany who stood up against the Nazis... on the whole ... most didnt - why..? ....

...because like Angus buchan ( God bless him)-and many other misled Christian believers or should i say...cowards.....  say " its nothing to do with us"... our job is simply to pray for those in authority... - and that is why they will not engage in the political arena...  i can give numerous examples right across the spectrum of the bible when men and women of God engaged politically... Jesus did it in the seat of power...the temple by throwing out all the moneychangers... come on people... Im reading the SAME bible as you...why cant you see it?

they think that religion and politcs are two separate worlds... they arnt...jesus exactly speaks to the poltical govt of his day- the romans...and the pharisees...and he engaged them...as did ALL the prophets right across the old testament from abraham to moses to joshua...saul...david...samuel ...it was always integrated...God speaking to a people...and then to a man... jonah...engaging Nineveh... all political... telling them to repent... so once again... i say this ...if ANGUS BUCHAN and his friends dont engage in the political sphere...they are just missing the mark. you cannot simply put your head in the sand... and say... its nothing to do with us...NO!-If people like president zuma steals the bread from the mouths of the children and the medicine form the hands of the sick... and we do nothing as Christians... you are missing the mark...

-you are in effect ...sinning against the very God who enlightened you in the first place...!!!!

We have an obligation and a duty to bring the government of heaven onto Earth- read the Lords prayer... thy kingdom come ...on Earth as it is in heaven...and what is the abomination of desolation...it is Satan''s kingdom on earth where he is a judge of the nations... through corrupt justice...replacing GOD as the judge...  its as plain as day... and our Christian leaders have fallen asleep in their apathy...

man oh man..Angus you baptised me ...why cant you see that? I've approached these so called Christian " leaders" AND Ive tried to say...hey...wake up...smell the coffee... why are your daughters being raped... ????-
-why are your businesses failing? why are your farmers being killed?why are your sons turning gay or atheist? its because you didn't engage...you didn't make a difference in your world...go take the gospel to the world...and that includes the political arena... John the baptist...why was he beheaded...? he engaged the political authorities... he got involved in politics...  so did SAMUEL the prophet...KING DAVID...Isaiah...KING SAUL...KING SOLOMON...and when there was good government ...everyone prospered... even the prophet Nehemiah got mad at the people of Israel for putting their sons and daughters into forced servitude and neglecting the walls of Jerusalem... we need to get it right... this country...this government ... FRIENDS...if anyone..ANYONE...tells you the kingdom of God and the message of the gospel is purely spiritual and individual... tell them they are misled... what you do matters... think about it... imagine if enough Christians had stood up against Hitler and stopped the holocaust... what a different world we would live in now... a social gospel is good...a salvation gospel is better...but a political gospel is what will truly change the world we live in...now...and bring... justice and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit on Earth as it already is in heaven...amen I thank you. robin d.

stand up and be counted... engage with unrighteousness in this nation and join a political organisation that is making a difference ...like the AFRICA UNITE PARTY... BLESS YOU AND GOD BLESS AFRICA!

Christians need to engage in politics for the sake of righteousness in this nation. And those who dont think so need to repent.
